Per the request of our good friends at Risher Mortuary and the family of Lono Allen Tyson the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) have been invited to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.
Lono was born on 02 August 1927 in Los Angeles.
Lono entered the U.S. Navy in August of 1945, a few months before the end of World War II, and received his Honorable Discharge as a Seaman First Class in January of 1947.
Lono served aboard the Fleet Oiler, USS Monongahela (AO-42), in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. His awards/citations included the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. At the time of his discharge, Lono was at the Naval Air Station, Alameda.
At eighty-one, Lono participated in a mini-triathlon and was on Channel Eleven News. He loved doing push-ups, sit-ups, and many other exercises to stay fit.
Lono was a diesel mechanic for a cement company for thirty years.
Lono is survived by his only remaining daughter Lorraine De Angelo.

I ride in honor of Butch Nichols and Vern Grimshaw, American Patriots. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just those we honor.
