The family of David Stacey has requested the assistance of the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their hero to his Final Military Honors. We are honored and privileged to attend.

Dave served in the United States Marine Corps from 7-27-72 until his discharge on 8-2-73. At that time, he had completed his training as a field radio operator and microwave radio operator at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina serving at the rank of Private First Class.

Following his service to his country he became a plumber and ran his own plumbing business. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, live music, and dancing. Over the years he battled and beat various cancers five times. Our hero also had to battle personal demons and became active in the Narcotics Anonymous Program. He just celebrated his 21st birthday of being clean and drug free. He stayed with the program all those years and truly is to be commended for serving his fellow NA participants as a peer sponsor and mentor.

Dave is Survived by his brother Richard Donabyl, sister Dawn Stacey Klein-Gray, Stepson Todd Goss, and Fiancé Michele Pearl.  He is preceded by his son, Nicholas Stacey, who passed six years ago.

We may have encountered Dave on some of the rides we all like to join: The Heroes Ride, The Ride for the Blue, The Nation of Patriots - Patriot Tour and the like.

NOTE: This mission posting facilitates your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying our hero and his family from the staging area to his final resting place, approx. 23 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. We will meet you there for those who would rather go directly to the cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission, all PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
