The family of Howard Grant Dunbar has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Howard joined the Navy in 1977 & honorably retired in 2001 as an SPCO. He was a combat veteran in Desert Storm, the Gulf War, & Kuwait, & Saudi Arabia.

The family believes that his death is combat related the to Gulf War Syndrome, asbestosis exposure led to disease that killed him, service connection is still pending.

After leaving the Navy, Howard worked for 20 years Radio Frequency/ Fiber Optics Engineer for Nextel/Sprint/T-Mobile.

Howard is survived by his spouse, Shari Dunbar, Sisters Phyliss Bergeron, Frances Dunbar, brothers Harry and Don Dunbar, Daughters Shari-Kristine and Stephanie Dunbar, Sons Jason Dunbar and Casey Higgins. Howard also had seven grandchildren.
