The Patriot Guard has been invited by "Homes for Our Troops", a national, non-profit organization which builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans at no cost to these Heroes. They are preparing to build a home in Temecula for Army SPC Geoffrey Quevedo a Wounded Warrior.

On November 30, 2011 while foot patrolling an alley with his partner, SPC Geoffrey Quevedo lost his left leg below the knee and his left arm below the elbow when he stepped on a pressure-plated improvised explosive device (IED). SPC Quevedo was 20 at the time of his injury and on his first deployment.

Upon his medical evacuation while drifting in and out of consciousness, SPC Quevedo continued to call out for his partner. He was then airlifted to Landstuhl, Germany, where he was stabilized. Since his injury, SPC Quevedo has undergone various physical therapies.

His current hobbies include going to the shooting range and playing soccer. His future plans include exploring entrepreneurship, and attending college to obtaining his degree in social work and possibly becoming a guidance counselor. He would like to thank Homes for Our Troops for honoring him and the sacrifices that he and other veterans have made.

This is the first official ceremony to help kick off and celebrate the start of SPC Geoffrey Quevedo's home in Temecula, CA.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be providing a Flag line as our hero is brought to his Homesite.
