The family of Raymond Peterson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to our country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Raymond George Peterson served in the United States Army from 1966-1969 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He was assigned to the Artillery Division and completed a tour in Vietnam. Raymond received several awards including The Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and The Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After his military enlistment, Raymond continued with his service to protect and serve by joining the police department in Dallas, Texas for five years. He decided at that point to transfer to the Los Angeles police department so he could care for his grandmother, who raised Raymond and whose health was declining. Raymond worked for the LAPD for 26 more years and finally retired after serving a total of 31 years as a police officer. Raymond was a devoted Christian and was heavily involved in his church. Raymond loved to play softball and he was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is survived by his wife, Tommie, and his three children; Wendy, Paul, and Dean to whom he was an exceptional husband and father too.

NOTE: You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there, by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep phones off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
