The family of Shane Everet Jones has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Shane Jones served proudly in the United States Navy from 1987 to 1991 and was honorably discharged as a Third-Class Petty Officer. Shane worked as a psychology aid in Great Lakes Chicago and loved what he did.  Shane grew up in Wisconsin but moved to San Diego when he enlisted into the Navy.

After his time in the Navy Shane worked at Aardvark Self storage for over 20 years and his co-workers talked very highly of him.

Shane was a busy body kind of guy and was always involved in something. He mostly loved being outdoors and his favorite hobbies were scuba diving, hiking, fishing, and rock climbing. He also loved to build things and built his own dune buggy for the desert. He loved working on cars and was a great mechanic.  Shane was not married and didn’t have any children. He leaves behind a sister and nieces and nephews.

We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
