The family of Harold Palmer, 81, or “Ed” as his family called him, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Harold joined the Navy in 1980, he rose to the rank of Sonar Tech (Surface) Frist Class, Harold was honorably discharged in 2000.

Harold did his basic training at NTC San Diego, he served in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Buchanan.  Harold served on seven destroyers over the course of his career, all over the world.

After Harold left the Navy, he worked as a Production Supervisor at Kyocera America Inc and a Production Supervisor at Snapdragon.

In his spare time, Harold loved to write, computers/desktop publishing, motorcycle riding with his Christian Motorcycle Family and hosting and attending Bible studies for his faith family.
Harold is survived by his step son, Michael Dudas and Michael’s wife June and ten grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

NOTE: This mission posting facilitates your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, all PGR members are welcome.   The family is asking for a Flag Line Only at Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate.

We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
