The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of MSgt David Mann, 85, to be present as he receives his military honors.  We are privileged to do so.

MSgt. David Mann served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1981.  He was stationed at George Air Force base in Victorville, CA.  During this time, David met his wonderful wife, Fayetta Redmond.  David was then re-stationed to Texas and Arkansas where he served in Aerospace Physiology and was an award-winning recruiter.  He received many commendations and medals and ribbons during his time serving in the Air Force.

After 24 years of service, David retired from the Air Force.  He worked for the US Postal Service for 11 years and continued on to becoming a San Bernardino County Probation Officer for 19 years.  David enjoyed spending time with his church, working puzzles, and family gatherings.

David is survived by his wife, Fayetta; sons; David and Damon; daughter,  Deborah; and God-daughter, Melissa.  He is also survived by four siblings out of ten.  He will be remembered by his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is a flag line only (FLO) mission at Riverside National Cemetery.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
