Letcher “Butch” Coger, 73, of Murrieta, California, passed away on September 10, 2023. Born on March 10, 1950, in Sutton, West Virginia, Butch was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
A consummate storyteller, Butch was known for his captivating tales and his ability to transport others into his world. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual who pursued his dreams with unwavering determination. Butch had a deep love for his children, music, art, and cars.
Butch proudly served in the US Army as a Paratrooper from 1968 to 1970, with a deployment to Vietnam in 1969. His military service was a testament to his bravery and commitment to his country.
After his military service, Butch embarked on a successful career as a professional plumber, dedicating over 30 years to his craft. His expertise and skill were highly regarded within the industry. In his free time, Butch pursued his passions for singing, writing music, and performing. He was also a regional pistol shooting champion and a local legend in billiards and darts. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests.
Butch is survived by his sisters Karen and Autumn; his brother, Alan (Scott); his children Brenda (Buzzy) and Eric (Ruby); and his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Letcher, Sr.; his mother, Belva Irene; and his brothers, Aaron and Colin. His former wife, Nancy Jean, also preceded him in death.
Butch Coger will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy as a dedicated father, a skilled tradesman, and a passionate individual will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
