The family of Samuel Jorge Mendoza has invited the Patriot Guard to honor this hero, and it would be our privilege to do so.
Samuel was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Sam as his friends called him came to California and joined the U.S. Army on August 6, 1971 and stayed in until September 5, 1975. During Samuel’s 4 yrs. with the Army he was stationed in numerous places finally ending up in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He attained the rank of Sgt. and was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division.
Upon separation from the service he went to work at Northrup-Grumman as a mechanic technician and was responsible for supporting many satellite launches as a fuel crew member.
