The family of Paul O. Hult, 103, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the graveside service for military honors of their loved one as he is laid to rest. It will be our distinct privilege to do so for this member of the "Greatest Generation.”
Paul entered the United States Army from 1943-1951 and stationed at Fort Snelling, MN. He went on to serve three European theatres during World War II: Sicily, Italy, and North Africa. He was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant on 01 October 51. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal (German and Italy), and Good Conduct Medal.
Paul married the British General Montgomery's housekeeper, a widow in Trieste, Italy with three children and he adopted them, saving them from the post-War Italy reconstruction. He then moved them to the United States of America. Paul was a proud American celebrating each holiday with posting our flag publicly and teaching his family to vote in every election and honor the Constitution and pay their taxes! He had two other loves...Dean Martin and Playboy Magazines.
As a widower, he managed his apartment complex and continued to follow hard news, read books about history, and collect Playboy Magazines.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who was greatly loved by his family and missed by all who met him.
Paul’s wife Zora, passed away in 2005. He is survived a son, Pepino; and daughters Anna-Maria and Lucia. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as one brother, Ted.
