The family of Charles Cooper, California Highway Patrol, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his Memorial Service, we would be privileged to do so.

Sgt. Cooper served in the California Highway Patrol from Aug. 1981- June 2010. During that time he was a sharpshooter, training officer, and a court recognized hazardous materials expert. He received numerous commendations and performance awards while also working on the 1984 L.A. Olympics and L.A. Riots.

He was an avid motorcycle rider as his retirement gift to himself was a 2010 touring elite Harley Davidson. He also rode dirt bikes and enjoyed the family's Sea-Doos. His wife mentioned that he had wanted to be part of the Patriot Guard Riders but thought that you had to be a military veteran.

His hobbies also included extensive gun knowledge and was a certified scuba diver. He dove Catalina Island, Florida, and various places in Hawaii. He was also a  Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan, a 24 year old son and a 22 year old daughter.

Note: This will be a flag line only.

The weather is predicted to be hot please stay hydrated and don't forget to eat, it can made a difference with your ability to withstand the heat.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please post your condolences for the family at this link:
