Scott Paul Snyder, 59, USN, Sun City/RNC - 08 April 2024

The family of Scott Paul Snyder has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to honor and accompany their hero to his final resting place.  It will be our privilege to do this for an American Hero.

This mission hits close to home as Laura Herzog and her family are one of our own.  Everyone in the family plays an integral part of the missions that we do for our American Heroes.  The least we can do is to repay the favor in their time of need.

Scott served with the United States Navy from 18 Jun 1985 to 19 Jun 1995.  During Scott's time in the Navy, he served on three ships sailing all over the world:
USS Missouri (BB-63) - 18 Nov 1985 to 29 Mar 1990 - Long Beach
USS Independence (CV-62), 11 Jun 1990 to 23 Aug 1991 - Coronado
USS Midway (CV-41), 23 Aug 1991 to 13 Apr 1992 - Coronado

Last duty assignment:  SIMA 41A - 04 May 1992 to 19 Jun 1995

At the end of his enlistment, Scott was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class.

After Scott's military service, his path led him to a career as an engineer with the Department of Corrections.  For 19 years, he was a respected and dependable colleague, demonstrating a work ethic that inspired those around him.  Scott's professionalism and integrity in his role were a testament to his character.

Scott was a man of the outdoors, which fed his passion for panning for gold.  This hobby was more than a pastime; it was a reflection of his love for nature and the tranquility it provided.  He found solace in the quiet of the wilderness, embracing the beauty and serenity of the natural world.

Scott passed away into the waiting arms of the Lord.

Scott leaves behind his loving wife, Annette; daughter, Amber; and his brother, Christopher “Cory.”

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to the cemetery, approximately 14 miles.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

"Standing For Those Who Stood For Us”

Only 2 defining forces offered to die for you:
Jesus Christ, and the American Soldier: One died for your soul, the other one died for your freedom.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
