The family of Michael Butterfield has requested the assistance of the Patriot Guard Riders, in honoring their Hero by accompanying him to his Final resting place with Military Honors at Riverside National Cemetery.  We will proudly accommodate that request.

Michael was born on December 22, 1965, in Anaheim, California to Jerry and Mary Butterfield.  His twin brother passed two days later. Michael served on active duty in the United States Air Force from September 1984 - 1994. During those years he served in Japan, Germany, Florida and New Mexico. His AFSC was 4A6X2, Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician.

Following the attacks on 9/11, Michael believed it was his patriotic duty to reenter the military to serve his country again. By December 2001, he had enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves and was assigned to the 452nd Maintenance Squadron at March ARB, CA. He was deployed multiple times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.   In 2009 he became an Air Reserve Technician (ART).

Our hero is survived by his parents, Jerry and Mary Butterfield and his brother John and 2 nephews. Our hero is also survived by his three sons Byron Watson (Kae), Brice Simpson (Yadera) and Billy Butterfield (Chelsea) and their families and 8 Grandchildren.
