The family of David Michael Marcum has requested the Patriot Guard to pay Honors for this American Hero as he is laid to rest. It will be our Honor to do so.

David was born on 27 May 1945. David was the youngest of 5 children. Unfortunately the other 4 children  passed away at younger ages.

Upon graduation from high school David joined the Air Force on July 29,1965. He served Honorably for 20 yrs. until his discharge at the rank of Sgt. on Aug. 1, 1985.

During David's time in the Air Force he became certified as a flight simulator technician. David served during the Vietnam conflict although he never was deployed to Vietnam, he served most of his time in Guam, and then headed back state side for his Honorable discharge.

Once David became a civilian he went full throttle in staying very busy. He got a job at McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing and worked there until his retirement.

Upon His retirement from the work force his first priority was his family.

David then got into a band, singing and playing lead guitar, In his off time he loved to play with his kids, and Grandkids. David then started learning about gardening so he could teach his kids and Grandkids the art of growing things.

As if that wasn't enough to keep him busy he then became a University of Tennessee Volunteer as a disc jokey and alternated announcer. He also learned to play golf. And when things slowed down he volunteered at the local cat rescue center.

David passed away on 21 Feb. 2024. He leaves behind his wife Teri, 2 Children: Dana and William, and 6 Grandchildren.

Only 2 defining forces offered to die for you:
Jesus Christ, and the American Soldier:
One died for your soul, the other one died for your freedom.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
