The family of LCDR James Bertrand Mattis, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

James B. Mattis, Born, 3/22/32 and entering his final rest on 6/25/24, served his country in the United States Navy for 27 years, including service in both Korea and Vietnam. James earned the Korea and Vietnam service medals and was honorably discharged in 1976 as a LCDR

James was a proud Military man, a Patriot. He valued education and paid to put his grandchildren through school. Volunteering at the VFW and American Legion always helping fellow Veterans to obtain their benefits. James loved a good poker game and supporting the Padres, Aztec’s and Chargers.

James is survived by his three daughters Cecilla, Rebecca and Kathleen and grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this will be an Accompaniment from Corpus Christi Parish to Holy Cross Cemetery a distance of approximately (12 miles). Please see the timetable below if you would like to participate. Note: We will have Motor Patrol Escort

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission, all PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
