NOTE:  This mission includes aircraft arrival.  Flight times are subject to last minute changes so please check this thread for any changes before leaving for this mission.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family to accompany Jericho Skye Magallon, 28, call sign “Shepherd,” from the airport as he is brought home to family and friends be laid to rest.  It will be our honor to fulfill their request.

On his second volunteer mission to the Ukraine, Jericho was killed on the front lines in Bakhmut on September 5, 2023.  Jericho was a United States Army veteran.

Years after his exit from the Army, Jericho felt compelled to support the Ukrainians after the invasion by the Russians on February 24, 2022.  As a former U.S. Army military police investigator, Jericho joined the military unit of the International Foreign Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine to fight as a volunteer.  He was first sent to the front lines on March 9, 2022.  He would fight as a volunteer alongside the Ukrainians for 10 months, March to December 2022, but returned home “because his son needed him.”

Although no prior combat experience he would soon be involved in combat operations; however, in-between missions he would learn different weapon systems and small unit tactics.  He also trained as a first-aid medic.

Jericho returned to the Ukraine late August 2023 when he was asked to help with training away from the front line.  He was later asked to assist with a rescue operation on the front lines where he was killed along with 19 other volunteers, just five days after his return, September 5, 2023.

Jericho is survived by his mother and father; his partner, Erika, and their two sons; several siblings; and other family members and friends.
