SHORT NOTICE ANNOUNCEMENT!The family of Edwin Felipe Perez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to join them in honoring their father with a procession from American Legion Post 574 to the family residence in Perris. It will be our honor to assist the American Legion Riders 574 in this procession.
Edwin served in the United States Marine Corps from 02 April 1979 until his retirement in 1999. At the time of his honorable discharge, he held the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6). His service included years of service as a Correction Specialist, Correctional Counselor, and Marine recruiter.
Following his retirement our hero began a career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation until his retirement in 2022. He was active in the American Legion Post 574 in various officer positions as well as a District 21 Sergeant at Arms. He was an avid runner and enjoyed competing in 5K’s and marathons.
Our hero is survived by his wife, Veronica, a U.S. Army veteran, as well as their children: LaSharon, Augustine, Eduardo, Felipe, and Edwin II. Many of these have followed in their parent’s footsteps with careers serving in the United States military services. He is also survived by his sister, Violetta Morales, and two grandchildren.
