The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Aaron Jackson Garvin to attend final military honors of their hero. It will be our privilege to fulfill their request.
Our hero was born in Chickasaw, OK in 1929. Aaron enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in May of 1946 after his high school graduation. At the time of his honorable hischarge and retirement in 1969, he was a Master Sergeant (E-7) in the United States Air Force. He was an airman who made the transition when the USAF was birthed out of the former USAAC in 1947. He was a baking supervisor at March Air Force Base. He had previously served in that capacity at Kadena AFB, Okinawa; Minot AFB, ND; and McConnel AFB, KS.
Following his military retirement, Aaron worked as a cook at the San Bernardino County Probation Department’s Verdemont Boys Ranch. He stayed there until his second retirement. Our hero enjoyed gardening, mostly to give away the fruits of his labor. He was an avid fisherman and frequently would travel to Mexico for that purpose.
Aaron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine, and their children, Laurie and Ron. He was preceded by their daughter, Betty. (Aaron passed in 2002, prior to the birth of their 6 grandchildren and 11 great-children.) Aaron’s five sisters and one brother have since passed.

1300 - KSU to assigned shelter for flag line and military honors.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
