We are honored that the family of Edward C. Soto invites the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in their loved one's funeral services.
Edward was born 1 MAR 28 and raised in Montebello, CA. He and his four brothers were first generation born in the United States. Edward loved his country and while attending Garfield High School, 17 years old, altered his birth certificate to reflect he was 18 years old and enlisted in the Army to follow his three older brothers, Alfonso (Battle of the Bulge), Felix, Army and Raul, Army into WWII. Edwards' eldest brother Joe worked in a military defense plant and was exempt from military service. Edward was assigned to the 727th Military Police Battalion in Tehran, Iran and Rome, Italy. For a young man like him, he was honored to serve and see the world.
Edward received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal and was honorably discharged, 30 NOV 46, at the rank of Private First Class.
After his discharge, Edward met the love of his life, Helen and enjoyed 68 years together raising two children. Not satisfied working for someone else, Edward became a General Contractor in Montebello, specializing in custom masonry. Additionally, Edward was a war history buff, enjoyed riding his Indian and Harley bikes, car enthusiast and was a founding member of a well respected car club, loved working in his rose garden, and was a man of faith.
This has been an especially hard time for Edward’s family, as he lost his loving wife and mother of his children, Helen earlier this year.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and is survived by his brothers; children, Edward J., USAF Veteran; daughter, Elizebeth; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
