We have been invited to attend the services of Chief Gunners Mate Rodney Stromenger, a veteran of the US Navy and the Vietnam War. It will be our privilege to do so.
Chief Stromenger served his country in the US Navy for 29 years, time which included two tours in Vietnam. For his service he received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was also a former San Diego Police Officer and he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle having made the run to the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington DC.
Chief Stromenger was a survivalist and his hobbies included participation in Calvary Days, Mule Days and parades. He enjoyed shooting his guns and loved teaching people how to reload rounds.
Chief Stromenger had no surviving family but he had many friends. We have been invited by his very close friend and Arizona PGR Member, Jacque' Ross.
We will provide a flag line at the mortuary in Ramona, a 26-mile accompaniment to Miramar National Cemetery and a flag line at the cemetery for Full Military Honors.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying this Hero from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
