The family of Ervin Zenski has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Ervin joined the United States Marine Corps in October of 1967 and served honorably until October of 1991. During his 24 years of service he obtained the following:  Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color with Palm), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (4), National Defense Service Medal(2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal (10), Navy Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Comat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Certificate of Commendation (2), Meritorious Mast (3), Letter of Appreciation (6), Expert Rifle Badge (3), Expert Pistol Badge (3). Ervin retired from the USMC as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.

Ervin’s Son Micheal also joined the Marines and they both even served time together at the same duty station.

Ervin was married to the love of his life, Dorothy and they had four children together: Peter Zenski, Michael Zenski, Anna Zenski and Sandra Sandford.

In his civilian life Ervin worked for Loyd’s pest control and was a general Handyman. He had many hobbies; Gardening, woodworking, traveling, football, church, and church functions, and enjoying family and friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this will be an accompaniment from the family home to Miramar Memorial Park, approx. 20 miles; see the timetable if you would like to participate.

NOTE: You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
