URGENT MISSION REQUEST!!!

The family of Michael Eugene Moody has requested the Patriot Guard Riders attend military honors of their loved one.  We are privileged to fulfill their request.

Michael served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He served as a M60 Gunner.  After he gave his service to the country, he would work the remainder of his life first as a machinist and then front office supervisor for Fortifiber, Inc., a company that provided products to prolong the life of wood, laminate, tile, and stone.

In Michael’s young life, he enjoyed cars and drag racing.  He played the trumpet.  As an adult, he enjoyed model trains, woodworking and construction, as well as stamps and stamp collecting.  However, his passion was plants.  He belonged to multiple plant societies.  His 80’ x 60’ backyard was a jungle oasis filled with a wide variety of plants, a beautiful Koi Pond with bridge, and a fun tiki decorated bar and patio.  His other passion was helping veterans receive services from the VA.  He helped start and was the President of Warriors to Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping vets.  He loved to serve others.

Mike’s excitement was contagious and had a way of bringing joy to others.  His favorite motto was “It’s going to be a great day!”  He was cherished by many others.  He truly had a heart of gold.

Our hero is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Toni Moody.  He will also be missed by his only child, Michelle Rae (Christopher) and four grandchildren, Haydn, Maddie, Gavyn, and Nick.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
