The family of Christopher James Wilson, 37, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their hero as he makes his journey to his final resting place.  It will be our honor to fulfill their request.

Christopher was born on January 16,1987 to Mary Wilson and Adam Perez Jr in Lancaster California.  He moved to Tehachapi, CA in 1995.

Chris loved being outside playing with his dogs, fishing, camping, and taking walks with his best friend – King, his beloved dog.  He loved to garden and BBQ.  He was larger than life.  He loved his family; they were his priority in life.  He loved to laugh and have fun and his laugh was so infectious and a one of a kind.  Chris was a true-blue Dodger fan.  He loved to go to Taco Samichs for carne asada burritos.

Chris entered the United States Army on 06/23/2006 and honorably discharged on 06/07/2013 at the rank of Sergeant.  He served in Afghanistan during the Global War on Terrorism.  Chris received multiple medals and ribbons to include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (2nd Award), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Wings.  His last duty station was For Leonard Wood, MO.

Chris is preceded in death by his father, Adam Perez Jr and his grandfather, James Wilson.  He is survived by his parents Mary and Jay Walker, and his daughter, Mira Wilson.  He leaves behind siblings, Michael and Kimberly, grandparents, and his fiancé, Jessica.  He will also be deeply missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Mass will be at St Malachy Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am Wednesday 11 December 2024.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this military veteran.  For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to the Bakersfield National Cemetery.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our heroes.  No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service.  Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum.  Observe the 15 MPH speed limit.  Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground.  Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
