The family of Carlos Mendez has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend services for him and honor him with a Flag Line, we are privileged to do so.

Carlos Mendez served as a Combat Medic in the Army, and served in Vietnam from 68-72.  Discharged as SP4. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and The Soldiers Medal. 

As a civilian he was asked to participate in the first physician assistant (P.A.) program. He worked as a P.A. in primarily pediatrics providing medical care to residents in East Los Angeles.

He is survived by wife, Ruth Mendez, Children: Carlos Jr, Melisa, Mia, Lucas,  and Matthew
5 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild.

This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will conduct a flag line at the Chapel and accompany the hero and his family from there to the grave site for final honors.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
