The family of Catherine Marie Reyes, USN, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to attend and honor their hero at her services. It would be our privilege to do so.
In the Navy, Catherine Reyes worked in the Pentagon as an artist who made 3-D models from photographs taken of enemy territory. The models were used to devise attack plans. Catherine served during World War II from 11/1943 to 11/1945. She achieved the rank of Specialist (X) Second Class (VA) (T).
In the 1950s she worked for Pacific Bell as a phone operator. She was a homemaker for many years after and was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader during her 2 daughters years of growing up.
In 1976 she worked at the Santa Ana post office as a sorter, and retired after 15 years.
She is survived by two daughters and one grandson.
Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be forming a flag line at the cemetery as the family enters and departs the service. Please see the time table below if you would like to participate.
