The family of SPC Michael Anthony Dahl Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor the memory of this American Hero.  It will be our privilege to do so.

SPC Dahl served his country from January 2006 - October 2009.  He enlisted in the Army Reserves in 2006 and was soon sent to Iraq.  After returning from combat he signed up for active duty and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, in Fort Lewis, Washington.  He was deployed to Afghanistan in July of 2009.  Unfortunately, this brave Hero was killed on 17 OCT 2009, at age 23 when the enemy attacked his vehicle with an IED.   At the time of his passing he had attained the rank of Specialist (E4).

His decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

Prior to his military service SPC Dahl was employed by Stater Brothers Market in Beaumont for 5 years.  His proud parents are Michael Dahl and Patricia Dahl.  He has 3 younger brothers, Angel, Steven and Buddy Dahl.

This will be a Memorial Service on the 5th anniversary of his passing to commemorate the life and the sacrifice of this brave young man.  The PGR has been asked to provide a Flag Line at the Memorial and "Rolling Thunder" afterward.
