The family of TSgt Gerald Leo Salazar,79, a veteran of the US Air Force has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to help honor this Hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Gerald served his country as a weapons maintenance technician/armament installer during the Vietnam War.  He retired at the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6).

In civilian life he spent 16 years with Guadalupe Boys homes group.  Family says he loved dining out, playing pool, going to the American legion post, traveling and the Military Channel on TV.

TSgt Salazar is survived by a brother, Steve Salazar of Pasadena, sons Michael Salazar of Redlands, son Danny Salazar of Redlands and 6 grand children.

Son Danny is a fellow PGR member and has asked that we provide an accompaniment from the church service in Redlands to Riverside National Cemetery for interment, a distance of approximately 23 miles.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church services to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
