Dear Mr. DeLeon,
Please relay my deep gratitude to the members of your Patriot Rider team who paid tribute to my father, a World War II Veteran, by providing the flag line at the mortuary and the motorcycle escort to Riverside National Cemetery. My father was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal for wounds he sustained while serving in the U.S. Army with the 253rd Infantry Regiment in Germany. He was 97 years old when he passed away.
Quite frankly, when my cousin Evelyn and her husband, Alex Rodriguez, asked if they could request the Patriot Riders to provide an escort, I wasn’t certain what to expect. My father was very special to me and to our family, and I am so glad that I accepted their invitation. Everyone who attended the service was very impressed with the Patriot Riders’ participation. I know Alex was especially proud to be asked to ride next to the ‘missing man’ spot as we proceeded to the cemetery.
Thank you for the honor you bestow on our Veterans when it’s time for their family to say good-bye.
