The family of Art Lee Nichols has invited the Patriot Guard to join them in paying honors to this American Hero, it will be our honor to do so.
Arthur Lee Nichols was born on 10-10-1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Arthur passed on Feb 24,2015 in Gardena Ca.
In 1950 Arthur joined the U.S. Army at the age of 16 years old and was deployed to North Korea during the war. Arthur served in the motor pool, transporting vital supplies to the front lines under enemy fire.
Arthur was Honorable Discharged after serving four years.
In 1955 Arthur joined the U.S. Navy. His first duty station was aboard the USS SHAGRI-LI (CVA-38). After time on the ship Arthur was then transferred to the Naval Station on North Island and attained the rank of Machinist Mate Third Class (MM3).
Arthur received an Honorable Discharge after serving two years.
In 1970 Arthur join the U.S. Army National Guard rising to the rank of 1st. Sgt.. Serving during the cold war. He was assigned to Company G 540th Battalion missile Maintenance Company, and 40th Infantry Division Maintenance Company.
October 10, 1994, 1STG Arthur Lee Nichols Retired and Honorable Discharge from the U.S. National Guard.
Arthur worked at Douglas /Boeing Air Craft Company until he retired as Electronics tech supervisor.
Arthurs hobbies were watching Los Angeles Clippers and spending quaility time with his grandchildren keeping them squared away.
Arthur is survived by: 4 children :3 Daughters, Reseda Terry, Rhonda Sykes, Yolanda Nichols, 1 son , Matthew Fields Jr. and a host of Grand children
